Yes! VERY deep down, Vale did want to be with Marc. But both men are so foolish. Vale ruined a good thing just because he didn't know how to handle feeling things towards someone this strongly. So when Uccio (slimy mfu*ker) tells Vale, "this boy will ruin you," he's like "yh" and destroys a thing that actually meant something to him. And now, now he has this cognitive dissonance where he has to keep convincing himself that he acted rationally so he talks about how it'll take him thirty years (senile old man has probably never forgotten a single grudge) to recover from this betrayal (the betrayal being that a twinky spaniard wormed his way into his stone cold heart).

Marc had to have known that to have Vale on opposing sides of you (no matter how much it seemed like he likes you - which, Vale deffo LIKED Marc) ends in pain, suffering and anguish. Look at all these other men who have crumbled in the face of Vale's mind games. Did Marc think he was going to be different. He was going to be the one. Because of course, Vale would look Marc and his replica motorbikes and his Vale posters and decide he is the one (he did make that decision before his ego couldn't handle Marc and Uccio couldn't help being a jealous weirdo).

They both wanted each other so bad, but they couldn't fight their own egos, and they both ended up being the losers in this situation. But lowkey Marc breaks my heart in a way that I didn't think possible.

Do you think Marc thought he could have been the one to change Valentino's intrinsic nature?

He’s playing the part of a saviour with blackened teeth and scummy hands, telling George he’s Jesus, telling George he could be his saviour, telling George to just fucking listen.

Matty keeps his arms there until George takes two long, steady strides over, and throws them down by his sides. He looks angry.

"You’re fucking disgusting. How could you? Why would you do that?"

There’s pretty, shiny tears starting to build over George’s brown eyes, and Matty knows he’s walking a fine fucking line between showing George what he knows and killing him in the process. He’s taken a whole lifetime of being told he’s dirty, he doesn’t care about one more. But he does. He does. He really does.

Of all the things George could’ve said to him then, that hurt him the most. He could’ve told him he was a sinner, that he should repent and worship like everybody else, could’ve told him that he deserves to go to hell, but telling him he’s disgusting hits somewhere far too close to home. He looked hurt at the sight, like he had no idea Matty could even think to do that, and that’s almost the worst part, because it came so easily to Matty, was he just that bad? Too far gone into that secular, Godless place that he couldn’t even see that he was wrong?
